About Us
Shannon was proud to serve his agency, the Broward Sheriff's Office, and his community. He was excited to bring progress to the agency as one of the founding members of the LGBTQ+ Liaison Committee, a group of employees dedicated to positive change and conversation.
Shannon was a School Resource Deputy at Deerfield Elementary when he tragically lost his life on April 3, 2020 when he became the first Florida Law Enforcement Office to die from Covid-19..
Shannon was all about caring for the LGBTQ Community and our youth. Today, we continue his legacy by raising money to provide college scholarship funds to Broward high school seniors dedicated to positive change between the LGBTQ+ Community and Public Safety Agencies. All donations are hosted by the Broward County Police Benevolent Association's Hope Fund and are tax deductible.
